Established in 1919, the Society of Graphic Fine Art is the only national society based in the UK which is dedicated exclusively to drawing. It exists to promote and exhibit original works of high quality in colour or black and white. This includes traditional and contemporary media. The emphasis is on excellence in drawing and draughtsmanship, demonstrated by hand.

Thanks to OESS, the Society has raised its profile and now has an increased number of members who add to the Society’s exceptional talent.

Each year the Society exhibits more than 200 works of art selected from hundreds of submissions from around the country. Techniques and media range from traditional to experimental. Prizes worth more than £2,000 are awarded for drawings, prints, artworks in colour and monochrome and more.
