Celebrating 150 years of artistic excellence in Glasgow
For 150 years, the Paisley Art Institute has been a beacon of artistic excellence in Scotland, championing both contemporary and traditional visual arts since its founding in 1876. The 137th Annual Exhibition continues this proud legacy, presenting over 500 works in its newly established permanent home within a stunning A-listed building in Glasgow’s city centre.

Our new home is in the prestigious Glasgow Art Club, situated in the historic Blythswood area of Glasgow and famous for its main gallery with internal features designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Visitors can expect a unique experience where changing contemporary exhibitions sit alongside cherished historic works, creating a lively, inspiring space that visitors have been hailing as something truly special.

Artists from across Scotland and the wider UK are warmly encouraged to submit work and take part in this landmark year. Open to self-taught artists, gifted amateurs, educators, and established professionals alike, the exhibition offers around 30 awards including a £2,000 top prize, several £1,000 prizes and a new young artist’s award.

We have invited respected judges from Edinburgh, Glasgow and London and there will be strong opportunities for sales and exposure. This year, open entry is being expanded through the Olist – a trusted platform for highly regarded open exhibitions – allowing the Institute to broaden its search for new members and discover exciting new talent further afield.
